Some helpful tips to improve sound quality:
If you use microphone and speaker as a sound input/output device, the sound from the speaker will be recorded once again through your microphone and the person on the phone will hear his voice on the background of your voice. For this reason, we recommend you to equip headset in your PC.
Even when using headset, some people still get echoes. The best way to solve the problem is play around with the "Volume Control". Try lowering the speaker volume and microphone gain. There will be a point where the echo disappears.
Some sound cards have "mixing" capabilities. Take a look at the "Volume Control" application. Select "Properties", check "Recording" and press OK. If "Mixed input balance" is checked, you will experience echo even if you use a headset. Uncheck the checkbox and see if the echo has disappeared. Note that not all sound cards have this feature.
